copy cat

I admit it, I am a crafting copy cat. The truth is I'm horrible at crafting and I could never come up with anything cute or even decent on my own but every once in a while I see something and I think "Hmmm,I MIGHT be able to copy that". That was the case with this project, I saw it on my sister in laws blog (Thanks Lindsay!) and wanted to give it a go. So here it is, this is what I started with...

and this is what I ended up with...

Joni also made one and hers turned out super cute, she got the creative gene in our family. I had a picture of her mid-project but being the good sister I am I decided not to post it. (I will however, hang on to it for payback in the future if she ever decides to post a not so great pic of me!)
P.S. I also made a good amount of the bows on the board! (Thanks to the talented women in my ward who also allow my to copy their creativity!!)

I'm gonna punch you down...

I had to give Chloe a little praise here because this girl is the wii boxing champion. Here is a shot of her taking down Auntie Joni. So far she has beat Mom, Dad, Carter, Cooper, Campbell, Grandpa, and Joni. Not a bad track record if you ask me. At first I thought it was her remote so I made her trade me and I still lost. I cant explain it, natural talent I guess. Anyway if she says she wants to "punch you down" she's only talking about the wii, not real life!

After school treasures

The boys have reached the ripe old age of 7.5 and a few months ago I decided to start letting them walk to and from the bus on their own. Well not fully on their own, they walk with a friend the same age and for some reason that makes me feel better about it! The best part about it (besides yesterday when they got distracted by a "way deep hole" and missed the bus) is all the wonderful treasures they find on the way home. This one is by far the best just because it is huge and I love picturing them carrying it down the street. The runner up is the bone they found from who knows what kind of animal. We have had numerous other pieces of metal, wood, and trash find their way home. For a while there it was a rock collection, I had to put an end to that when I realized that the neighbors were getting bald spots in their landscaping!! Anywho, I'll keep you posted if anything better then this awesome pole shows up.
P.S. This pole actually did come in handy! Billy was in the middle of finishing our wall and it got super windy so we had to use it to help support the block, thanks boys!

Easter 2010

Im a little late getting these Easter pictures up but better late then never right?? We had Easter at a park this year with my whole family. The weather was really nice and we had a fabulous time. Lots of yummy food, way to many deviled eggs (we didn't think it was possible but there were actually left over eggs), easter egg hunt, and this year we decided to throw a hula hoop contest in the mix! It was a lot of fun, Ryanne (my niece) was amazing. I'm pretty sure that she lasted longer then all of us put together. Chloe and Campbell finished off ALL the candy the very next day, it made for an interesting night!
