Our trip couldn't have ended more perfectly, at Krispy Kreme. I guess thats not true, I really wanted the kids to see them making doughnuts and they weren't, Billy even asked them to make some special for us and they wouldn't-RUDE!(The whole purpose of our trip to Salt Lake was to go and meet our sweet and perfect brand new neice(and cousin) Mataya. She was blessed on Sunday (right before we hit the krispy kreme) and somehow I didn't end up with one picture of her or the festivities in her favor-lame aunt-I know. So I will just say she is super duper cute and we had a great time with the whole family!)
We had 4th of July dinner with most of Billy's family and I did manage to get a picture of all the girl cousins who were there, only Mataya is missing.
Right before the BBQ we were at the Hogle zoo. This was our last activity while at the zoo, the awesome train ride, it was cute, I had never been on it before.
The boys took advantage of every photo op like this one that we ran into! Bunch of monkeys!
Seriously, the monkeys were so funny, we kept trying to walk away but we couldn't because they were super entertaining-that was my favorite of all the animals. Maybe because they remind me of my own kids. So I made Billy and the kids take a picture in front of the monkeys so we would always remember how funny they were!
Cooper being a lemur.
Chloe's favorite part of the trip by far! She was talking about Lexi and "Tataya" the whole way up. That girl LOVES her babies! She also LOVES TO TALK, she kept us laughing the entire 10 hours we were in the car.
We had a temple reservation for 5 on Friday night to take the kids to the open house. We got on the freeway in Hurricane at 12:45 and I thought we were going to miss it, but somehow Billy got us there in plenty of time! It was an awesome experience.
All packed up and ready to go. The kids were perfect angels on the way up-we stopped one time to get lunch and potty breaks. We made up for it on the way home by stopping four times between Kaysville and Springville! It took us a little longer to get home then it did to get there!
So totally out of order, I dont know what happened, but I love this picture Billy took of the kids looking at the giraffes. It was such a wonderful weekend and I am so glad we were able to go. (We almost changed our mind at the last minute) I think I am starting to annoy Billy with all my zoo talk but I cant get over how active all the animals were. We got there right before feeding time and it was nice and cool so the animals were quite happy. The Lion was so noisy and so were the monkeys. We even saw the alligator move, I was starting to doubt that those things really moved at all! Anyway I posted a smilebox because we had a ton more pictures (that I couldn't even fit in there)that I wanted to share but like I said, I need a blogging tutorial. Thank you to Melissa and Ryan for hosting us and to Lindsay for having a baby-giving us a great excuse to come up and visit everyone! We love you all and hope your fourth was as wonderful as ours!
